Gift Shops In Maui

One of the most beautiful places on Earth is no doubt the Hawaii Archipelago. Hawaii is a series of islands that make one of the most recent states of the American Union. The second-largest of these islands is called Maui. It is the seventeenth-largest island of the United States of America.

We know Hawaii mainly from the tourist commercials. “Aloha” is by far the most renowned word in the Hawaiian “Aloha” means “affection”, “love”, “compassion”, “mercy”. When a nation greets you with a word that sends out a message of love, compassion or mercy you must think that the nation in question has a very profound spirituality.

Smiley sweethearts half naked dancing Hula with flowers in their hair and muscle stallions performing fearful war rituals is what we know about Hawaii. It is what traveling agencies told us about these people. In reality, Hawaiian culture is one of the most profound cultures in the world not to mention ancient. Many historians agree that Hawaii belongs to an ancient civilization called Lemuria or the Mu Empire. It is supposed that the islands of Polynesia and Oceania represent what’s left of an ancient continent that hosted a fascinating culture.

I know it sounds very fiction-like but it makes perfect sense, not to mention that it is documented by various historical findings of archaeologists. Let’s face it, a people that greet you with a word that summons the highest human ideals is definitely special.

Maui Island is populated by Polynesian people who introduced here a very strict moral system called kapu, which means “forbidden”, but also translates as “sacred”, “consecrated” (the word  kapu is another vestige of an ancient civilization with a very high spirituality; the word “sacred” in Greek and Latin has the same meanings as the Hawaiian kapu, while the Hebrew word shalom means exactly what aloha means. That should tell us how ancient Hawaiin world is). These laws ensured the social relations between people of Maui for centuries.

That is why, when visiting Maui we could try to find the traces of their majestic history. I mean, they may not be as far advanced as their ancestors, the Lemurians, they may not even be the grandsons of the Lemurians, but they definitely are something.

What can one buy in a gift shop located in paradise? Let’s start with the most notorious gift all gift shops offer on Maui Island: the famous Maui Protea. It’s a plant. In fact, it is a flower species. Protea is a beautiful flower arrangement which surprised us and delights us with its colors and the fact that is very enduring and can make gorgeous decorations in our houses.

Another specialty in Maui is the Spa massage and of course the Spa gels. For the price of $50 you can buy the real thing in Maui, with no chemical substitutes. If you’re not looking for something special, you can buy things tourists gather: Maui T-Shirts, Maui mugs, Hula dancers, post cards with edenic images and many more. Aloha!
