Egypt is an Arab country in North Africa and the Middle East, limited to the north of the Mediterranean, east of Gaza Strip by Israel, the Gulf of Aqaba (which is through contact with Jordan and Saudi Arabia) and the Red Sea, the south west of Sudan and Libya. Its capital is Cairo.

In addition to the capital Cairo, Egypt’s other major cities are Alexandria, Al-Mansurah, Aswan, Asyut, El-Mahall el-Kubrat, Giza, Hurghada, Luxor, Kom Ombo, Port Safaga, Port Said, Sharm el Sheikh, Shubra-El -Khema, Suez and Zagazig.
Egyptian territory and extending the Sahara desert and parts of Libya desert. There are oases, among which are the Bahariya, Dakhleh, Farafra, Kharga and Siwa.




Egypt is bordered by Libya to the west, south Sudan and north-eastern Israel. Country controls Suez Canal, linking the Mediterranean to the Red Sea.
The important role that Egypt plays in geopolitics comes from its strategic position as a land bridge between Africa and Asia, and the crossing point between the Mediterranean and Indian Ocean.

When we say Egypt, we think first of all at pyramids, and Egyptian mythology, specifically all about Pharaohs and pyramids. Along the Pharaohs, hieroglyphics, pyramids are truly a symbol of ancient Egypt.

The way of construction of the pyramids:  Ancient Egyptians were some distinguished architects, given that Egypt is today the largest stone monument on Earth, and the only wonder of the ancient world held until today, the Pyramid of Cheops. Studies have shown how to construct: as the pyramid rose around them, the workers made a ramp that lifted the stone blocks on some wooden sledges. In this way, they put on block after block, until the pyramid was finished, and then the ramp was removed, leaving the pyramid itself, in all its glory. Its top is coated with gold pyramid. Today, in Egypt, only a few pyramids are whole, unfortunately.

With such a vast and exciting culture and history, souvenir shops in Egypt contain all kinds of items related to Egyptian pyramids and their culture.




Souvenirs – the most popular shopping in Egypt are papyrus, perfume oils and essences, and statuettes of basalt, articles of gold and silver, precious stones, Hookahs, traditional clothes. Egypt is invaded by spoofed rice paper or banana leaves with patterns punching, therefore the papyrus has to be purchased from certain stores that are given a quality certificates for these products.

Money – currency Egypt – Egyptian pound or Egyptian Pound (LE). 1 pound = 100 piastres. 1 $ USA = about 5 pounds. The shops accept U.S. dollars, but when the goods are more expensive.




In the rest area, most shops and souvenir stalls haven’t a fixed price, after negotiation price of the product can be taken 2-3 times cheaper.

It is very well developed in Egypt, duty free shops chain. Shopping in these stores can be made upon presentation of passport.
