After seeing this much history in one place, you have to assume that there is a place from where you can take some souvenirs with you: the gift shop. In the online shop, there are some categories of items like Apparel and Accessories, Books, Home Furnishings, Jewelry, Stationery, Wall Art and last but not least, the section with the Best Sellers. Let’s take them one at a time.
In the Apparel and Accessories department you can look through some clothing articles as scarves, ties, totes and umbrellas with all sorts of prints and inspiring patterns from the collections you have previously saw earlier.
The Books section is vast; here you have Art Institute of Chicago related books, Artist related books, the General area and you can also view the best sellers. Let me enumerate some titles from each class I’ve just mentioned: “Three Graces: Snapshots of 20th-Century Women”, “The Age of American Impressionism: Masterpieces from the Art Institute of Chicago”, “Edgar Miller and the Handmade Home: Chicago’s Forgotten Renaissance Man”, “Dogs”, “Cloud Collector’s Handbook”, Dream Destinations of Europe” and many others.
In the Home Furnishings department you can choose between clocks, collectibles, decorative glass, desk accessories, fountains, furniture, games, glass panels, holiday ornaments, lamps, mobiles, nightlights, religious items, sculpture, tabletop, throws, vases, wind chimes and, of course, the usual best sellers area. All these are beautiful items that allow you to take to your home a little bit of the world of art.
In the Jewelry section you have the possibility to buy bracelets, necklaces, pins, rings, sets, watches and there is a browsing list by stones used in the making of the jewelry: amber, pearl or semi-precious. These are unique pieces of jewelry that will allow you to wear in the day to day life a part of the unordinary and maybe the extraordinary.
The Stationery section contains boxed note cards, calendars and note cubes and the Wall Art department offers you at sail canvases, framed art work, matted prints, posters and wall décor.
