Shops or stores exist all over the world. Today people sell everything. In fact, trade is one of the main activities of man since ancient times. Phoenicia, located on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean in antiquity played an important role in developing trade. This situation was favored by the Phoenicia strategic location at the crossroads of three continents: Europe, Asia and Africa. Phoenician merchants were built in strategic places on the coast a series of docks, bazaar, market factors and the colonies. Through these commercial items they showed their dominance over trade in the Mediterranean basin. Initially they sold over land, then entering the commercial circuit of cedar and oak timber used in shipbuilding and the sarcophagi of Egyptian pharaohs. Gradually an important place in the trading business there was olive oil, wine, Phoenician art products, fabrics and weapons. Also the slave trade in Ethiopia, Greece and the Caucasus has been particularly developed.

A gift is a small attention that someone gives to another person with different occasions. For example: on Mother’s Day, Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, on her or his birthday or when someone goes to a place and buys a souvenir for someone else etc..

A gift shop is a place where you can find souvenirs. By buying something from a gift shop you can prove that you were in a certain location, visiting something or just passing by.

Of course, we can find gift shops online too, where you can find everything you need, things for any person, of any kind. Usually there are funny things, with all kinds of funny writing and drawing.

A shop must submit a self-image which individualizes it over its competitors. Store image can be defined as consumer perceptions of the store and its attributes, emphasized by a package of features: store location, size and structure of the assortment of goods, atmosphere and internal organization, promotional resources, overall planning.

These features are perceived by customers synergistically, as those elements that define the personality of the store. Asked how personality is appreciated in store, consumers will respond by using terms like: honest, fair, reliable, exciting, interesting, etc., describing and so the physical facilities provided: clean, easy to find, parking, etc.

A list of attributes may not be exhaustive. Each store, depending on its commercial policy, the specifics of the area attractions, may have other attributes.

It is estimated that the commercial success of a store depends on:
a) the location;
b) choice assortment of goods and services offered for sale;
c) environment and organization (planning) interior.

A gift shop should have a location close to touristic places, such as: beaches, museums, art gallery, tourist resort, malls etc. where there is a large touristic flow.
